Windows of Venice

from $4,450.00

Edition of 11

Bobby’s Recommended Presentation | Gallery Modern (Thin 3/8”W Black Frame) Presentation

Windows of Venice along with Signs Everywhere represent another pivotal point in Bobby’s evolution as an artist. The idea started with his image Deux Lieux (French for Two Places) - created after a single sheet of 4x5 film was accidentally exposed twice in two different locations in Colmar, France.

Windows of Venice and Signs Everywhere took the idea a step further by exposing a single frame of medium format film 5 or more times (each with a subject matter theme) - remembering with each exposure where the previous exposures were positioned on the film in order to achieve an overall balanced composition. This series of works marks yet another milestone in Bobby’s break with the traditional views of the photographic medium into a style all his own, offering the viewer an almost abstract aesthetic with a sense of place.
