15 Years of Vegas
on FILM
To own a piece from the Bobby Wheat Gallery is to own a piece of Vegas history.
For 15 years, the Bobby Wheat Gallery has been one of few constants in a city built on change. From his signature Film Negatives of the Strip to images created climbing the walls of Red Rock Canyon, Bobby’s commitment to the Vegas story is unmatched—each photograph captured on film, archivally printed, and shared with the community in his Downtown Summerlin gallery setting.
In a place where most ventures last only a season, the gallery has endured becoming part of the cultural fabric of Las Vegas—proof that art can not only survive but thrive when rooted in discipline, conviction, and authenticity. Each year is a recommitment to creating work that is scarce, authentic, and tied to the city where it all began. The Bobby Wheat Gallery stands as one of the few independent voices proving that permanence and authenticity are right at home in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas was the first piece released in Bobby’s Vegas Film Negatives Series. For 6 years after opening his gallery in 2011, Bobby’s Patrons had requested that he create his own unique interpretation of the Vegas Strip; however Bobby held off until he was certain he could do so in a way that had never been done before. This image represents the culmination of that effort and the introduction of the concept to the public. The piece was received wonderfully by Patrons, and this piece now hangs in the homes and boardrooms of many of Las Vegas’ most prominent executives and corporations.

Edition of 21

Hundreds of thousands of people fill the streets of the Vegas Strip as the clock strikes midnight. A celebration was in order as this marked the end of 2011, the gallery’s first year in business. Knowing that many more prosperous years lay ahead of us, we saved this release specifically for the gallery’s 10-Year Anniversary. Thank you to the patrons who’ve made all of this possible. While this was not the first to be released, it was the first photograph taken in what would become the gallery’s best selling series and a ground-breaking new direction in the world of photographic art.
