Captured with a  single exposure on a vintage 4x5 view camera thousands of feet above the Pacific atop the coastal range on a backpacking trail near Big Sur, California, Bobby's Emergence represents one of the most iconic works in the 13-year history of the Bobby Wheat Gallery. This piece depicts a completely wild towering California Oak so remote that it has likely never been photographed before nor will it be again.  Emergence is one of 11 pieces in Bobby's portfolio to be inducted into the prestigious Professional Photographers of America (PPA) Loan Collection-one of the industry's most elite photographic honors-making Bobby one of the youngest fine artists in history to be named a Master of Photography by the PPA.  Perhaps no other traditional landscape image in Bobby's body of work more appropriately represents his ability and willingness to depart from subject matter trends and find new hidden icons of his own.
