Last Light Over Venice | On our last night before heading back home to Las Vegas, we were rewarded with a scene replete with the quaint charm of a Venice long ago. In a residential area far from the well-worn paths of San Marco Square, this small piazza was alive with the soft buzz of restaurant goers from all over the world dining to an outdoor duet of accordion and cello music. Setting up the old 4x5 camera became a spectacle in and of itself attracting a small crowd of people asking questions in different languages as if this avant garde technology had just been revealed to the world for the first time. I fired off a 1-minute exposure as the last rays of the sun gave way to dusk, taking a brief moment to soak in the last light over the iconic city before returning to my table to finish my meal and another bottle of Franciacorta.
